Visual Music
In this all week long workshop hosted by Rainer Kohlberger (rrrr) and Arístides Job Garcia Hernández (lasal), up to twelve participants will come together to develop an audiovisual composition that will be performed at the end of the festival week. In collaboration with two musicians, the group will work on a narrated piece of generative visual music. Abstract language and minimalist aesthetics will be used to form connections between the individual voices of the participating artists. In a highly interdisciplinary setting we will search for ways to arrange generative sounds analogically to the imagery and vice versa.
Technical topics that will be covered include the use of communication protocols (OSC, MIDI), realtime audio analysis and fast patch switching in vvvv.
This workshop is expressly for intermediate and professional users only and is not suitable for beginners since the ability to express yourself through your programming tools is vital to the development of the project. Your weapon of choice doesn’t have to be vvvv to participate.
